Message from the Principal
My name is Alfredo Palapa, and I will be your Principal at Salvador Garcia Middle School for the 2017-2018 academic year.
I would like to share with you a little about myself. I am a proud product of United Independent School District. I graduated from United South High School in 1996, when Rio Bravo and El Cenizo students were serviced at USHS. After my high school graduation, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English. My passion for giving back to my community drove me to choose to teach at LBJ High School when it opened in 2001. I remained there until 2007 when I became Academic Coordinator at United South High School. A year later, I was promoted to Assistant Principal at USHS where I remained for the next 9 years.
Now that I have told you a little bit about myself, I would like to congratulate the students, faculty, and staff at Cougar Land for an exciting 2016-2017 year of achievements, both inside and out of the classroom. The campus experienced success in academics, Band, UIL, and sports. These achievements show that this campus has high expectations. Everyone must continue to come together, maintaining a positive attitude and always expecting greatness, in order to add to and build upon the great academic, athletic, and extra-curricular accomplishments.
It is evident that the teachers of Salvador Garcia Middle School are providing quality instruction to Cougar students. Offering high-quality instruction, maintaining a Bully-Free Zone, and executing effective classroom management will ensure a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment for all students of Salvador Garcia Middle School.
I am so eager and excited for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful team of students, parents, faculty, staff, and community members. As long as we work together towards the same goals for our campus, the 2017-2018 academic year is going to be an outstanding one.
Alfredo Palapa, Principal
